Older updates

We decided to break the update list in two to make it easier to see what's new.

  • Dallas has released the new DS2482-800 1-wire master (as mentioned previously as coming in the Dallas seminar briefings, (Link available  in the Reference Materials, 1-wire Articles section on this site). Check the News section for more details.
  • Dallas has come through to us with the promised list of DS18X20 B7 chips. So you can now check your DS18S20's and other versions as well as the DS18B20's. The C2 version (replacement die unit) will fix this bug but will be exactly the same as the current die otherwise. Expect shipments of the new version (C2)  to begin roughly at the beginning of September 2004. (Oh well, we had hoped for the new front end to be added to the chips, .... At least you can plan ahead and place your orders now... and get back to business) Our continued thanks to the good Dallas folks for their continued updates... We suggest software coders might want to alter their software to insure best operational abilities in all cases. There are a lot of B7's out there..
  • Warning! It appears Buffalo Run Enterprises run by Alan Heaberlinis,  has left several people without their mony or parts and no refunds. Web site appears to be non-functional.

  • At the request of Dallas Semiconductor, we have removed the document AN247.pdf. titled "DS18x20 EEPROM Corruption Issue".  Dallas has decided this should have been a "internal confidental document" and would rather not have it available on the web. The document explains the issue and documents workarounds. If you have further questions or need to locate this document, you can contact Dallas at thermal.support@dalsemi.com to ask for it. It is also available from their distributors.
  • Added the iButton Software company Thermodata Pty Ltd, they also sell some hardware so check them out. .
  • Added a new 1-wire manufacture with Marc's Geeky Bits
  • Added a new entry to the 1-Wire Chip Problems/Information section concerning the DS1921L The DS1921M was offered as a temporary solution to the lack of availability of the DS1921L in November of 2002. Of interest to software developers.
  • Added a new section called 1-Wire Chip Problems/Information  to the reference materials section to help keep track of problems with 1-wire chips that may have occured in the past. If you have details about past problems (not just about deliveres of chips), then send us a copy of the documentation so we can post it here for everyone. We've move the recent DS18X20 problems details there and added some new information from Dallas about recognizing DS18B20 B7 chips..
  • Added links to the new 1-wire discussion groups lists and updated Dallas information on the lists.
  • Added a Email site update notification feature, use the subscription button to register for this service .Get a Email anytime their is significant changes to this web site.
