The DS1921M will be offered as a temporary solution to the lack of availability of the DS1921L, until the DS1921L can be made to meet the data sheet specification in full-scale production.

The DS1921M will have the temperature accuracy specified in the DS1921L data sheet provided that all the logged data is compensated using the error factors that are programmed in the user memory of each part. To meet the data sheet accuracy specification and gain the highest accuracy possible, these adjustments must be made according to the DS1921 Thermochron Calibration Data Format document.

Once Dallas Semiconductor deems the DS1921L in full-scale production, the DS1921M will be discontinued. The DS1921L does not and will not contain any calibration data in user memory.
